בס"ד חדשות השבוע בעברית

Dear Parents and Students,
What a wonderful week we had:
We had the opportunity to reflect on our "Twin Day" experience.
We did very well on our spelling/ vocabulary quiz.
We reviewed weather and vocabulary, and took a unit test on colors.
When learning new vocabulary, the students are learning how to use the new words in specific sentence forms. That way, new vocabulary can be immediately used in sentences.
Friday is our fun activities day: we start by taking a short quiz (not so fun…), but then we enjoy singing Hebrew songs and playing games.
Students who maintained good behavior and participation during the week, get the chance to roll the treasure box dice and receive our fun prizes. This is a great incentive for the student, and it promotes good listening, good Midot and participation.
By the way, our class treasure box is always "Hungry" for new prizes. Donation will be happily accepted.
Next week we will start our clothing unit. We will learn the names of different clothing items, and then "Open a clothing store" in class.
Important information:
After Rosh Hashana we will study a unit about our families. Please email me a picture (or two or three…) of your family, and a picture of your home. We will do something really fun with them…
Upcoming tests and quizzes:
Vocabulary quiz every Wednesday.
As always, Please contact me with any questions., comments or concerns.
You can reach me at:

Weekly newslwtter, 9/9/11
Shalom, 9/9/11 בס"ד
The second week of school went very smoothly. Every day we are checking the weather outside, and describing it with our increasing vocabulary.
In our Tal Am curriculum, which we have started this week, we are accompanying the class in our book since 1st grade. Now, in the beginning of 5th grade, we are learning about the changes which accrued to the class in our book since we left them, at the end of 4th grade.
One big change we are reading about is the addition of two new students to the class: the twins, Moty and Yosi. We had much fun reading a library book about these two new characters.
Moty and Yosi are twins, therefore, we will celebrate “twin day” in class on Tuesday, September 13th. .
The students will plan matching outfits with one or two partners, and they will present it in Hebrew to the class. This will be tied also to our new grammar topics: Colors and clothing.
Reminders:
1. Please remember that you child has a spelling quiz each Wednesday.
2. Quiz on Friday, 9/16/11: Your child has all the information for this quiz glued in his/her Hebrew composition book, and you can also find it on the back of this paper.
3. My blog is updated, so please feel free to check it at:

Dear parents,
The new school year is starting, and I'm very thankful for the opportunity to be your child's Hebrew teacher.
We are heading toward an exciting year, learning Hebrew through the Tal Am program, guided by the principal of Ivrit B'Ivrit.
As always, the Hebrew department promotes open communication between parents and teachers and vice versa. This will enable you, as a parent, to know what your child is learning in Hebrew class, as well as tests and assignment schedule.
To reach this goal, you can check my blog, which will be updated often, and will contain the homework assignments, as well as quizzes and tests schedule. You will also receive a weekly letter, in your child's Friday folder, as well as reminder emails, before tests and other assignments.
Please feel free to contact me with any question.
You can reach me via phone at the school: (614) 864-0299 x117 or via email at: ggolan@toraacademy.org , or check my blog at http://ggolan.blogspot.com/
Looking forward to a wonderful school year,
Sincerely,
Galit Golan
